Curaçao’s participation in Miss Universe 2011 in Danger

Willemstad, May 6 – As published on the Curacao news outlet Extra, the newly crowned Miss Curacao Universe, Monifa Jansen, might not take part in the international event in Sao Paulo.  The article stated that based on information received, they contacted the local franchise holder, Aubrey America, who just limited to say that indeed there was a delicate situation concerning Jansen’s participation and that they hoped to organize a press conference to clarify all the rumors within the following days.

Said rumors state that Miss Jansen is probably outside the age requirements for the pageant, as she might have turned 18 years old after the cutoff date.

If the rumors are indeed true, Jansen would be replaced by her 1st runner-up, Evalina van Patten (photo, right)
