MISS MUNDO VISITA CHINA

Miss World Alexandria Mills and Chairman of the Miss World Organisation Julia Morley were in Beijing today to attend the launch of this year's national final for the People's Republic of China's entry into Miss World 2011.

This year's competition carries three themes of "love", "green" and "happiness", and the eventual winner will hope to embody these three characteristics. The auditions, heats and semi-finals are due to take place across the country over the coming months, with the final events scheduled for August in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province.

Further pictures from the Miss World and Mr World visit to Korea have ben unveiled. Miss World Alexandria Mills, Miss World Africa Emma Wareus, Miss World 2nd Runner-Up Adriana Vasini of Venzuela, Mr World Kamal Ibrahim, and Mr World 1st Runner-Up Josef Karas were all in Korea to launch Beauty with a Purpose there, and as well as photographs of the press conference launch, there are pictures of their visit to Seoul National University Children's Hospital. Chairman of the Miss World Organisation Julia Morley and the Miss World and Mr World representatives met children with cancer receiving treatment and their families, while a special few were given the chance to wear the Miss World crown

Hillevi Rombin de Suecia Miss Universo 1955 falleció en un accidente de aviación junto con su esposo y uno de sus cinco hijos.


Maribel Arrieta 1ra finalista en Miss Universo 1955. Fue la mujer más bella de El Salvador. Falleció en 1989 víctima del cáncer.


Hillevi Rombin Miss Universo 1955 y Maribel Arrieta 1ra finalista con un gran parecido a Marilin Monroe.


Amparo Muñoz Miss Universo 1974 tras sufrir de una larga enfermedad regresó a Málaga su ciudad natal. Falleció rodeada de sus familiares.


María Elena Rossel fue la primera peruana que representó a su país en Miss Mundo 1959. Ganó el certamen Venus Perú que le permitió viajar a Londres logrando ser 1ra finalista. El cáncer le arrebató la vida.


Rosemarie Frankland del Reino Unido Miss Mundo 1961. Trabajó en varias películas en Hollywood aunque su carrera de actriz no tuvo mucho éxito. Dos divorcios, alcohol, drogas y depresión. Se quitó la vida a los 57 años. Murió sola y olvidada en Los Angeles.

Tobago is being considered as a possible venue for the 2011 international Miss World Pageant. Head of Miss World International Julia Moreley and the reigning title holder are now in Tobago. They are said to be assessing facilities on the island to see if they are good enough for hosting the popular pageant. Ms. Morley and her delegation will stay in Tobago until tomorrow and then travel to Trinidad for two days. Giselle La Ronde won the Miss World title for Trinidad and Tobago in 1986. There have been some close calls since. The reigning Miss World is from the United States. She is Alexandria Mills. She is among the delegation now in Tobago.

Miss World 2010, Alexandria Mills of the United States and her entourage paid a courtesy call on chief secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly Orville London at his office at Calder Hall yesterday. She was accompanied by first runner-up Miss World (Africa) Emma Wareus, of Botswana; Trinidad and Tobago Miss World representative at the 2010 pageant, Davia Chambers; and Julia Morley, co-chair of the pageant.

Welcoming the entourage, London said he appreciated the fact they were in Tobago. He hoped the ensuing discussions would be fruitful and positive. Morely, speaking on behalf of the team, said, based on future talks, the country would be able to invite 120 nations to witness and enjoy Tobago’s charm.  She added: “We do love Tobago. I do from many years of being here. I think at the moment it’s one of the world’s best kept secrets.”
