Miss Hercules to wear George Wittels’ custom-designed Crown

Miss Hercules 2011 Beauty Pageant is already creating a buzz ever since it was conceptualized in mid-2010 by the Miss Hercules Organization headed by its President, Richard James White of Realty World Regency. Crowns protected in a special glass encasement have been hosted by several local establishments who believe and support the cause of the pageant. The pageant which is co-presented by the City of Hercules aims to empower young women. Twelve lovely candidates are vying for the prestigious title and crown. Aside from a partial college scholarship, the loveliest of them all will be wearing a Dayana crown that is custom-designed for Miss Hercules.

   

The Dayana crown is a three-dimensional timeless piece. It is made of silver and is accentuated with crystals and turquoise stones. The crystals symbolize elegance, nobility, and greatness, whereas the turquoise stones represent prosperity, camaraderie, and friendship. George Wittels, the crown’s designer, drew inspiration from Dayana Mendoza’s accessories worn when she won the Miss Universe 2008 title.

George Wittels, a Venezuelan jewelry designer, originally studied to become an engineer. He has designed and created jewelry collections for many famous fashion designers and retail outlets. His designs and creations are exceptionally hand crafted with special attention to detail. Most of his pieces are made of a variety of combinations of unusual materials like brass, tin, silver, gold, bone, wood, vintage glasses and beads, and precious stones. George draws inspiration from the necessity to design something that is extraordinary. He tries to create 3D pieces that cross the influence from the past and projection into the future.

George Wittels is well known in the fashion, bridal, and pageant world. His name and pieces appeared in Fashion Week of New York in 1999 and Paris Pret a Porter Fashion Week in 2004. Since 1999, George has created the crowns for Miss Venezuela, Miss Bahamas, Miss Supranational, Miss Teen Poland, Miss Poland World, Miss World Dominican Republic, Miss International Dominican Republic, Nuestra Belleza Latina (Univision, Miami ), Miss El Salvador Universe, Miss El Salvador International, Miss El Salvador Tourism, Miss El Salvador Earth, Miss Curacao Universe, Miss Teen Aruba International among others. Likewise, he has created accessories worn by many pageant contestants and three were crowned as Miss Universes , four as Miss World, four as Miss International, and one as Miss Earth. And of course, the next one to wear a George Wittel timeless piece is no other than the new Miss Hercules 2011 which will be crowned on May 21, 2011. The winner will have the chance to wear the crown at official functions and appearances and she will have to bequeath it to her successor.
